The Library is open six days a week. It consists of digital screens in all study rooms, computers, WiFi and knowledgeable, supportive and experienced staff to provide support. All computers at Hornsey are equipped with a range of useful software to assist students with their needs or you can choose to use your own devices with our free, open and reliable Wi-Fi. And when you're not on campus, you can still access a range of library services online, wherever you are in the world. Students are encouraged to view the library induction presentation and familiarise themselves with borrowing, renewing procedures and other services. | Hornsey consists of three types of study spaces: Group Study Spaces: This is designed for group work, though please be aware of your noise level and how this may affect other users. This space is in high demand and should be used for studying rather than socialising. Food and drinks are prohibited in the library. If you need to move equipment, please ensure it is returned to its original position when you have finished. Silent Study Spaces: This is designed for individual silent study. This space should be used by those who want to work alone and is not for collaborative study. Phones should be turned off or switched to silent while you are in premises. No foods and drinks are allowed except water in the space. Open Study Spaces: This is designed for those who would like to use the room for study only without using library materials. |
The Hornsey Library is a very conducive environment for silent study. It is well stocked with resources to keep me up to speed on all my tasks and assignments.

Note: During vacations, the Library opens at 8:30 AM and closes at 5:00 PM from Monday to Friday. Saturday is closed.

The Library spends over a million pounds each year on teaching and research resources. Most of these are now electronic. Please use the links below to find the resources you need.

You will need to present your student ID to borrow items from the library. Each item you borrow has a designated loan period of 2, 7, 14 or 28 days.
Some library material is available for reference use only in the library. These items are clearly marked with a 'reference' sticker on the spine of the book.
Undergraduate students can borrow a maximum of two books and postgraduate students a maximum of three books at a time.
Note: Students who have overdue items will not be allowed to borrow other items until the overdue items are returned.
Any book you borrow will now be automatically renewed (except 2 days loan and reference items) for a maximum two times though you must return items if they have been requested by someone else.
